MYP Maths

Job Summary:

The MYP Maths Teacher is responsible for providing a stimulating learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB). The teacher will deliver engaging and rigorous lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love for the English language and literature.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Planning and Delivery:Design and implement MYP Maths curriculum in alignment with IB standards.Develop and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners.Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students.2.Assessment and Evaluation:Create and administer formative and summative assessments.Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student progress.3.Classroom Management:Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment.Implement effective classroom management strategies.Foster a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.Professional Development:Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.Stay current with educational best practices and IB developments.Collaborate with colleagues to share strategies and resources.5.Communication:Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.Prepare progress reports and conduct parent-teacher conferences.Engage in regular collaboration with the IB Coordinator and other faculty members.6.Extracurricular Involvement:Support and participate in school events and extracurricular activities.Mentor students and contribute to their holistic development.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Maths, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).Teaching certification/licensure for the relevant grade level.Experience teaching in the IB Middle Years Programme preferred.Strong knowledge of MYP philosophy, framework, and assessment criteria.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.Skills and Attributes:Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.Ability to inspire and motivate students.Strong organizational and time management skills.Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic school environment.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators and stakeholders.
