Colorist

About the Role We are seeking a talented and detail-obsessed Colorist to join our growing video production team. As our in-house Colorist, you will be instrumental in defining the visual tone and color language across a diverse array of content—from premium educational videos and masterclasses to brand films and product explainers. You’ll bring a deep understanding of color science , S-Log/RAW workflows , and visual storytelling to enhance mood, tone, and brand consistency. Your role is pivotal in ensuring every frame we release meets the highest cinematic standards , elevating the learner's experience and reinforcing the Nxt Wave brand’s visual excellence. Key Responsibilitie s Color Grading & Look Developmen t Perform color correctio n and color gradin g on footage shot in S-Log/RA W profiles, delivering high-quality, visually consistent results across a range of formats . Develop and maintain a cohesive color palett e that aligns with each project’s narrative, mood, and branding . Create custom LUT s and grading template s for consistent use across recurring content formats . Ensure accurate skin tone s, balanced highlights and shadow s, and dept h that enhances storytelling . Technical Workflow & Deliver y Manage Da Vinci Resolv e workflows (or equivalent professional grading suites), from conforming and color grading to rendering and final delivery . Collaborate closely with cinematographers and editors to ensure footage is captured and delivered to maximize grading flexibilit y . Implement color pipeline s that integrate seamlessly with post-production workflows, ensuring efficient turnaround time s without compromising on quality . Maintain color accuracy through color-managed workflow s, ensuring deliverables are optimized for we b, broadcas t, and LM S platforms . Quality Control & Consistenc y Conduct QC check s on final outputs, ensuring there are no color discrepancies, banding, or compression issues . Maintain visual consistenc y across multi-camera setups, different locations, and varying lighting environments . Ensure color fidelit y between raw footage, graded outputs, and any integrated motion graphics or VFX elements . Collaboration & Creative Inpu t Work closely with directors, cinematographers, and post-production teams to interpret creative brief s and bring the director’s vision to life through colo r . Provide on-set advic e during pre-production or principal photography, including recommendations on lightin g and camera setting s to facilitate post-production grading . Stay updated on color grading trend s, cinema aesthetic s, and technical advancement s in the field, continuously pushing the visual boundaries of our content . What We’re Looking Fo r Experienc e: Minimum 2-3 years as a Coloris t in a professional environment (films, commercials, branded content, masterclasses, etc.). Software Proficienc y : Expertise in Da Vinci Resolve Studi o (primary), with familiarity in Adobe Premiere Pr o, After Effect s, or other NLEs an added advantage . Proficiency in color-managed workflow s, ACE S, and HDR gradin g is a plus . Technical Knowledg e : Deep understanding of color theor y, color space s, LUT s, scopes (waveform, vector, parade ), and color calibratio n . Experience working with footage from Sony FX serie s, Canon Cinem a, Blackmagi c, and RE D cameras . Attention to Detai l: Obsessive about consistenc y, color balanc e, and technical accurac y, with a sharp eye for subtle nuance s in hue, saturation, and luminance . Creative Sensibilit y: Strong sense of visual storytellin g, with the ability to enhance mood and emotion through color while staying true to the brand identit y . Communication & Collaboratio n: Excellent communication skills to articulate creative decisions and collaborate effectively with director s, DOP s, and editor s . Nice to Hav e Experience with HDR workflow s and Dolby Visio n mastering . Familiarity with on-set color monitorin g and live gradin g tools . Understanding of VFX pipeline s and compositin g, ensuring clean color passes for effects-heavy projects .
