Position: Sr Electrical PCB Designer  

 

Educational Qualification & Relevant Exp. Guidance:  

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in electrical & electronics engineering or electronics & communication engineering with minimum of 6 to 8 years of related experience; or master’s degree with minimum 4 to 6 years of experience  

 

Primary Responsibilities:  

 

  • Responsible for performing professional electrical PCB engineering design, development, modification, tool upgrade and testing in support of electrical systems and / or power distribution
  • Work with a multidisciplinary engineering design team: electrical, mechanical, software, technical support, productivity engineers, and suppliers, on the design, modification. 
  • Creates electrical schematics and system based on requirements and creates/releases engineering drawings & bill of materials 
  • Outstanding analysis and proven trouble-shooting skills and ability to drive functional requirements & execute in a dynamic team environment 
  • Maintain and develop process checkpoints to ensure adherence to design standards and schedules. Work with leadership peers to drive process improvements as necessary. 
  • Learns Products, PDR processes & DFMEA principles and Owns PDR tasks/Simple sub-system/medium complex CIP/Medium complex designs using appropriate project management tools. 
  • Update stake holders on deliverables & timelines including Global stakeholders 

 

Mandatory skills and experience required to perform the job:  

 

  • Provide technical guidance in developing new PCB designs and updating existing PCB designs.
  • Develop PCB layouts, perform component placements and determine effective trace routings.
  • Good Knowledge in DFM, Allegro viewer and View-Mate tools for Gerber review
  • Working experience in electronic/ Electrical circuit design and development tools like Allegro, OrCAD, PCAD, Altium, Dx-Designer PCB tools 
  • Work on System/tool level upgrades and integration of sub systems for upgrades
  • Familiar with different design standards and compliances like – NEC, NFPA, UL 508, IEC standard, IPC 620, SEMI Standard (Electrical)  

 

Desirable Skill:   

  • Experience in executing & ownership on PCB designs from end to end (from component selection to building of PCBA from supplier)
  • Good Knowledge of PCB Layer Stack-up, Design Rules and creating 3D Model for mechanical Design
  • Experience in selection of components, setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices  
  • Experienced in system level understanding of Electrical architecture, IO Controllers and Applications 
  • Good communication skills and experience of working in cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
