School Finance Officer Position Type School Operations Commence Date ASAP Employment Status Permanent / Ongoing FTE/Hours per week 30 hours per week/ 44 weeks per year Subject(s)/Grade ESO Admin Grade 6 Role Details The Opportunity The Senior Finance Officer plays a pivotal role in the effective financial management of St Catherine’s, Stirling. This position provides strategic and operational leadership across finance, payroll, budgeting, compliance and reporting, supporting the school’s governance, sustainability and mission. This is a permanent, part-time position working 30 hours per week, 44 weeks of the year Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for school financial planning, including operating and capital works budgets. Prepare and present financial reports, analysis and advice to the Principal and School Board/Finance Committee Oversee finance operations including accounting, audits, grants, fees, creditors, debtors and regulatory returns Manage payroll functions to ensure compliance with Enterprise Agreements, legislation and CESA policies Coordinate audits and ensure accurate, timely reporting to government and system authorities Lead and support finance staff, fostering a professional and collaborative team culture About You Demonstrated high-level experience in financial and payroll management within a complex environment. A minimum of 2-3 years of finance/accounting experience is required. A Bachelor degree (Accounting or Finance) is the minimum education qualification required. Strong knowledge of financial, taxation and payroll legislation and regulatory compliance. Proven ability to provide strategic financial advice and exercise sound professional judgement. Advanced proficiency in finance systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
