With a strong commitment to innovation, we are now venturing into thesmart home ecosystem, developing cutting-edgeIoT devicesthat elevate everyday living through seamless, secure, and connected experiences.Role DescriptionJob Location:AhmedabadEmployment Type:Full-Time/ On-SiteWhat You’ll DoLead theend-to-end design processfor smart home IoT products - from concept to detailed design to prototype development to testing to productionDrive the balance betweenform, function, ergonomics, and manufacturabilityin every product you design.Work closely withengineering, embedded, firmware, and UX teamsto develop innovative and ergonomic hardware solutions.Define and developCMF (Color, Material, Finish) strategiesto elevate brand perception and product desirabilityDevelop high-qualityCAD models, prototypes, and renderingsto visualize concepts and communicate design intent clearlyConductuser research and ergonomic studiesto improve product design and enhance user experience.Collaborate with embedded engineers to ensure seamless integration of IoT components, sensors, and materials.Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensureDFM (Design for Manufacturability)without compromising design vision.Stay ahead ofdesign trends, manufacturing processes, and emerging IoT technologiesto drive innovation.Developdesign guidelines and documentationto standardize industrial design processes across product lines.Work closely withmanufacturers and suppliersto ensure that the final product maintains design intent while meeting cost and production constraints.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s or Master’s degreein Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field of consumer electronics, IoT Devices7+ yearsof experience in industrial design for consumer electronics or IoT devices.Proficiency in 3D modeling software(e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Rhino, Fusion 360 or similar) and rendering toolsStrong experience in CMF development, materials selection, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).Familiarity withIoT device constraints, sensor integration, and wireless communication technologies(WiFi, Thread, Bluetooth, Matter, Zigbee).Experience designing enclosures incorporating thermal management and ventilation design principlesExperience working withcross-functional teams, including product, embedded, firmware, and mechanical engineers.Ability to createdetailed design specifications and technical drawingsfor prototyping and production.A strong portfolio showcasing IoT or consumer product designs with an emphasis on usability and aesthetics.Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to balance design vision with engineering feasibility.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale to stakeholders.Familiarity with FEA and CFD tools for structural or thermal analysis (ANSYS, COMSOL, Solidworks Simulation)(Preferred not mandatory)What You'll GetOpportunity to share a design-led IoT product portfolio from the ground upWork in a cross-functional, innovation-first environmentCreate real impact through devices that will power the future of smart livingFreedom to experiment, iterate, and challenge conventional thinkingIf you’re passionate about shaping thefuture of smart home devicesand designing hardware that seamlessly integrates with the digital world, we want to hear from you JoinMantra Softechand redefine the smart home experience through world-class industrial design.How to ApplySend yourresume and portfoliotoPlease include "Senior - Product Designer (IoT)" in the subject line.
