Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced SDET II/Senior Software Development Engineer in Test with a strong background in UI and API automation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in tools like Selenium or Appium and have deep knowledge of SQL queries and the internal workings of APIs. This role involves working in a BDD environment, writing and maintaining automation frameworks, and ensuring the quality of our software applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing using Selenium, Appium, or other relevant tools.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback on testability.
Implement and maintain Cucumber-based BDD automation frameworks and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure thorough coverage of both functional and non-functional requirements through automation.
Write SQL queries for database validation and understand the internal workings of APIs to develop comprehensive test strategies.
Create, manage, and maintain test environments and test data for a variety of test scenarios. Work as part of medium to large-sized project teams to deliver high-quality solutions within deadlines.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members in automation and testing best practices.
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Utilize test management tools.
Collaborate in an agile environment and handle multiple priorities with frequently changing requirements.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all automation scripts, test cases, and results.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in UI automation using Selenium and Appium.
Strong experience with API Automation and knowledge of API internals.
Proficiency in writing automation scripts in Python or Java.
Good understanding and hands-on experience with BDD and the Cucumber framework. Experience with pytest or similar test frameworks.
Strong knowledge of writing SQL queries for database testing.
Proven experience in setting up test environments and managing test data.
Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and other test management tools.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and manage changing priorities.
Demonstrated experience in medium to large-sized project teams.
Experience working with Product based company.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing integration.
Experience in cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, or others).
Experience with performance and load testing tools.
ISTQB or equivalent certification in testing is a plus.
Soft Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
