Mechanical Draftsman

The altM Engineering team is responsible for converting the R&D team’s research into actionable engineering and manufacturing deliverables in order to set up production.

Responsibilities DraftingP&ID, PFD, and equipment layout development. GA and fabrication drawings development for process equipment. Plant 3D modelling, piping design, and isometrics development. Mechanical systems design including but not limited to conveyers, augers, actuators, and screws.Coordination & Teamwork Partner with all internal stakeholders including engineering, operations, supply chain, and production to ensure that project delivery is on time and under budget. Requirements Diploma/Degree or equivalent technical training in mechanical/chemical engineering/CAD software, or evidence of exceptional ability.4-10 yrs experience in drafting for EPC projects in the chemical industry. Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD 2D/3D, AutoCAD plant 3D, Solidworks 3D, ProE, or equivalent mechanical design platform. Experience in developing GA and fabrication drawings for process vessels, columns, TEMA heat exchangers, agitators, and storage tanks. Proficiency in developing P&ID, PFD, and other chemical engineering drawings.Proficiency in developing process equipment layout for green field/brown field sites.Hands-on experience in plant 3D model development and piping isometric development.Knowledge of international codes such as ASME sec8 div1, ASME B16.5 for mechanical design, and others.Experience in new equipment and machine design elements including but not limited to gear trains, pulleys, levers, screws, augers, bearings, fly wheels, and linkages. Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentation – and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.This is an onsite role and requires physical presence at the production site.Ability to travel locally, domestically in India, and overseas.
