Director, Mobile Engineering

In this role you will get to:

● Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the iOS and Android Mumbai basedteams.● Refine and execute on a vision for a mobile platform● Coach, mentor and support a highly effective team of passionate engineers fostering ahigh-performance culture.● Be responsible for ensuring that the shared product vision and business goals arerealized through excellence in execution● Be a part of the senior technical staff, working in an interdisciplinary manner with yourpeers in other departments● Enable a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation and excellence whilecontinuously elevating the quality and caliber of our engineering organization● Recruit world-class engineering talent and participate in the process includingattracting, screening, and closing high caliber candidates.● Participate in strategic planning meetings with product management, architectureand design.● Contribute to technical engineering designs, resource management andimplementations● Manage the delivery of software using Agile best practices● Help solve complex software engineering tasks, while maintaining high engineeringstandards and practices● Measure, manage and optimize key metrics such as velocity, estimation accuracy anddefect counts.● Communicate effectively with your team members, your peers, and your internal andexternal customers● Administer budgets including Training, Travel, Morale, Contractor and Compensation● Work closely with the senior leadership on department- and company-wideinitiatives.● Most importantly, exemplify Priceline's cultural values of Customer Innovation, Team,Accountability, and Trust.

Who you are:

● 12+ Years in Software Engineering● 5+ Years managing Managers of Managers● Demonstrated experience building high-scale and highly optimized customer-centricmobile applications● A track record of creating innovative solutions to challenging problems. A willingnessto challenge assumptions and negotiate solutions.● Experience creating and defining developer enablement strategies, especially in amobile context● Experience with and exposure to a wide array of mobile technologies, such asAndroid, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Swift, and SwiftUI.● Technical expertise that enables meaningful conversations with product architects &engineers● Knowledge of release management and deployment workflow processes, particularlywith the nuances of app store deployment● Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build productivecross-departmental relationships and motivate team members.● Illustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation,Team, Accountability, and Trust.● The Right Results, the Right Way is not just a motto at Priceline; it’s a way of life.Unquestionable integrity and ethics are essential.
