Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Production Planning Control Specialist to manage and optimize the production, planning, and control processes in our denim manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ensuring the efficient flow of production, meeting deadlines, optimizing resource utilization, and reducing waste. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production cycles and timely delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning:
- Develop and implement production plans in line with business objectives and sales forecasts.
- Collaborate with design, sourcing, and sales teams to align production schedules with market demands.
- Create a master production schedule, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and machinery.
- Monitor raw material availability, ensuring no delays in production due to supply issues.
- Production Control:
- Supervise and monitor daily production activities to ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date reports on production progress, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve lead times.
- Ensure that production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
- Inventory Management:
- Ensure effective inventory control of raw materials, trims, and finished goods.
- Work closely with warehouse teams to track stock levels and implement just-in-time (JIT) inventory strategies.
- Manage reorder points and minimize stockouts to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Capacity & Resource Optimization:
- Plan production capacities and allocate resources based on forecasted demand and production priorities.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, lead time reduction, and waste minimization.
- Coordinate with factory management to ensure machine utilization, labor efficiency, and minimal downtime.
- Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination:
- Liaise with external suppliers, vendors, and factories to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Oversee outsourcing activities, if necessary, ensuring that external production aligns with quality and delivery standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement in the supply chain.
- Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with quality control teams to maintain high standards throughout the production process.
- Ensure any production issues are addressed promptly and corrective actions are implemented.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Textiles, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in production planning and control, preferably in denim or fashion apparel manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, resource planning, and production optimization.
- Experience working with ERP systems, production planning software, and data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience in optimizing production processes.
- Ability to travel, if necessary, to factory locations and vendors for quality audits and inspections.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the denim industry or fashion apparel production.
- Familiarity with Just-In-Time (JIT) production and inventory management techniques.
- Understanding of supply chain logistics, lead times, and cost optimization strategies.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
