Ensuring that the contractors / vendors are identified and finalised timely
Ensuring that the Work Order / Purchase Orders are placed in time
Guiding the Contracts department for finalizing rates
Guiding the Materials department for smooth delivery of materials to various sites
Coordination with other departments like Engineering, Design, Procurement, Commercial etc.
Ensuring that all the statutory requirements of the projects are complied with
Planning the Manpower Requirement and optimum utilisation of Manpower
Identify critical paths and activities
Documentation & Drawings control
Budgeting and obtaining Budget approval
Safety management &Quality Management
Evaluate requirement of machines required for various applications
Tracking of procurement cost vis a vis Budget
Job DescriptionsFinalizing scope of work as per the project need and obtaining management approval for the scope of work & budgetAllocation of work to the team clearly defining the role & responsibility to be performed by each team member.Guiding the Planning dept for release of scope to construction site and effective monitoring of the construction schedule.Analysing the rates for various materials / work etc. and giving approval / issuing common guidelines across the various projects.Adopting effective cost control techniques.Periodic review of the progress and trouble shooting in case of delays.Issuing guidelines for finalization of contractors & vendors.Coordination with other depts. like Engineering, Design, Procurement, Commercial, HR etc. for all the needs & requirement pertaining to the project.Issuing guidelines for Manpower and ensure optimum utilization of Manpower & other resources.Issuing guidelines for implementation of all statutory requirements pertaining to the construction work thus ensuring that there is no delay in the construction work due to legal matters.Giving all necessary technical inputs / clarification to all the depts. involved in the project / construction activity.Identify critical paths and activities.Evaluating of procurement cost vis-à-vis Budget.Ensure 100% adherence to Safety and Quality norms and related training to all employees and contractors.Ensure achieving the desired quality and should be able to handover the project as per stipulated handover procedures.Skills & CompetenciesPlanning the construction activities for timely & smooth completion of projectUnderstanding overall construction sequence and accordingly plan, coordinate and implement various activities taking care of various inter disciplinary interfacesInterpretation of drawings pertaining to Architectural, structural, MEPF, Interior, landscape, façade, and instrumentation worksInterpretation of structural drawings including cut sheets, fabrication & erection methods of structural worksManpower Planning as per the project need and schedule and optimum utilization of Manpower & other resourcesKnowledge in Construction technology & Management, Codes and StandardsEducation RequiredNecessary:·BE/B Tech –Civil·Preference to having worked for Contractor, but Consultancy background can be considered.Desirable:·Post-Graduation in Construction / Business Management is preferred.·Overseas Experience is preferable.Experience Required20+ years Construction exp minimum. Preferably worked on major projects with MEPF elements exceeding USD $ 100 million. A minimum of 2 projects such as 5-star hotel/Hospital /Club/Mall/Luxury Residences/Restaurants with industrial Kitchens.
Education Requirement :
B.E. / B Tech (Civil / Mech)Master in Business Management
Experience Requirement :
18-20 yrs. ExperienceShould have handled the construction activities in large projects in Industrial projects of Refinery, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Telecommunication, and Power Plants etc.
Should have worked as Construction Manager for the last 5 years and handled projects to the tune of100-200 crores

Knowledge of various survey practicesKnowledge in RCC construction of Industrial structures and Architectural buildings
Knowledge in Area Grading, Soil investigation, Strata Stratification
Knowledge in Drilling techniques
Knowledge in blasting operations
Knowledge in structural erection works
Knowledge in Rigging Schemes
Knowledge in Precasting / Prestressing works
Knowledge in basic electrical activities like earthing and cabling
Basic knowledge in Instrumentation works like PLC, relay setting, panels etc.
Basic knowledge in alternators, transmission and power generation equipment
Knowledge in Construction technology & Management
Methodology & practices in Contract Management
Project schedule & network based techniques
Knowledge in QA/QC procedures and NDT
Safety Policies & needs
Construction field International Quality standards
Material control & reconciliation procedure
Work order, purchase order procedures, billing methods and labour laws
