About the team
"Generate leading insights to handle, steer and anticipate our business" is our Analytics team's vision. The Enabling Advanced Analytics Team is a team in Business Excellence and part of P&C Re Operations and is accountable for development and maintenance of P&C Re Operations Analytics landscape.
We support the pre and post-bind Operations departments (Origination, Underwriting Operations, Offering and Contracts, Technical Accounting & Claims Operations, Claims Management, In-force Management and Reserving), by generating significant business insights. The team is regularly interacting with senior key stakeholders and acts as interface between the business and IT partners.
About the role
This role will be based in Bangalore where other Enabling roles are already located. The role holder will closely work with the Enabling Advanced Analytics Lead and other Enabling team members as well as IT and business stakeholders to solve business problems from a data driven perspective. The Advanced Analytics specialists will also participate in projects from definition to completion and ensure the maintenance and the evolution of the analytics platform.
Key tasks
Translate business needs and requirements into specific quantitative questions, that can be answered with available data using sound methodologies Create business value by leading end-to-end data science solution development, deploying advanced AI/Machine Learning models and make process improvement recommendation Use statistical, algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques to model complex problems, find opportunities, discover solutions, and deliver actionable business insights Identify and highlight gaps in existing datasets to enhance the ongoing data collection process Own your projects and use this autonomy to find creative and innovative ways of solving problems, delivering solutions and manage stakeholders at different levels.About you
Technical and analytics skills:
Master's degree in STEM/Economics/Statistics/Engineering Graduate with strong Data/Analytical/Programming skills Minimum 6 years of programming experience with minimum 4 years of work experience in Data Science or equivalent field as an individual contributor Intermediate to advanced level of experience using descriptive, prescriptive and predictive modelling techniques is a must. A strong background in advanced statistics, particularly in probability theory and experience in scientific computing is a must. Proficiency in Python, PySpark/Spark and proven experience using popular ML/AI packages Other preferred technical capabilities: SQL, R, PowerBI Experience in the re/insurance industry is a plus Experience working in diverse projectsSoft skills and a consulting approach
