We do this by building and maintaining multiple solutions to accelerate ML workflows, such as our scalable model deployment platform and our plugin that allows users to easily configure CI/CD for their orchestration workflows. This role is for a backend engineer who will be focused on enablement of cloud native services and tooling for model development, training, and deployment.The Machine Learning Platforms team is part of the MarTech, Data and Machine Learning Engineering team that is responsible for building Wayfair's class leading, data centric technology platform that optimizes and powers all of Wayfair's advertising. It touches hundreds of millions of consumers and drives billions of dollars in annual revenue. Our platforms allow us to scale our marketing efforts efficiently by automating key processes, interacting with ad vendors in real time and leveraging hundreds of terabytes of data and ML algorithms for optimization and effective decision making on millions of items in our catalog. The types of systems built by this team range from low latency REST and Graph QL APIs, to streaming systems processing billions of daily events in real time to large scale batch systems.Bengaluru is home to our brand new, strategic technology delivery center and will be critical to achieving our future growth plans. What you'll Do:Take complex engineering problems, design appropriate solutions and deliver on them fairly independently with limited oversightWork on a variety of technologies - from model training to model deployment tools using GCP, K8s and PythonWork closely as needed with the Machine Learning Science and Engineering teams and develop good architectural patterns allowing us to deploy ML models quickly and flexiblyDesign systems that can handle large volumes of data and provide robustness, resilience to failures, and smart anomaly detection capabilitiesBe a multiplier, mentor other engineers on the team and help them become more productive and implement engineering best practices

What You'll Need:6+ years of experience as a backend or full stack engineerExpertise with a modern programming language-

JavaExperience working with a cloud provider, preferably Google Cloud PlatformExperience in CI/CD tools/platforms like Buildkite/Docker/KubernetesExperience working with Data Science and/or Machine Learning would be a added advantageProficiency in designing robust, reliable systems at scaleExperience in system monitoring using tools like Grafana/DataDog etc.A track record of delivering in increments and learning as you goExperience mentoring engineers and leading code and design reviewsExperience in working with product managers to define, break down, and collaborate on feature workGreat verbal and written communication skills and the ability to support technical decision making with the teamA genuine believer in constructive and respectful code reviews, retros, and collaborative problem-solving as the bedrock of a healthy teamAssistance for Individuals with DisabilitiesWayfair is fully committed to providing equal opportunities for all individuals, including individuals with disabilities.
