Job Title:

Senior Machine Learning/ GenAI / Prompt Engineer, Contractor (3-4 Months with possible extension)

Location:

Chennai, India (In-Person/Hybrid). Chennai location is a must have. This is not a Fully remote position.About Us:Join our cutting-edge startup team in Chennai, where we are advancing AI and ML applications within the medical and biotech sectors. We are looking for a seasoned Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in prompt engineering and large language models (LLMs) to create impactful solutions tailored for industry experts. This is a 3-4 month contract role, with the potential for continued collaboration, where you’ll engage closely with experts in medical, biotech, and pharma disciplines.Key Responsibilities:Develop and analyze robust evaluation benchmarks to assess GenAI product performance and effectiveness.Engage in prompt engineering to tune LLMs for accuracy and relevance in specialized applicationsWork closely with experts from medical, biotech, and pharma fields to understand their needs and align solutions accordinglyInnovate and iterate on current systems to enhance performance, efficiency, and user satisfactionQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a Master’s or PhD is a plus5+ years of experience in machine learning or backend service developmentProven experience in building (LLMs) applications, prompt engineering, and ML model evaluation, using LLM frameworks such as LangChain, Llama Index, or Haystack,Experience with vector databases, such as PineCode for building RAG or GraphRAG applications.Experience using prompt engineering tools, such as PromptLayer or Promptist.Nice to Have:Background or interest in the medical, biotech, or pharma sectorsFamiliarity with backend systems is a plusWhy Join Us?This role offers a unique opportunity to apply ML and prompt engineering skills to high-impact projects in an innovative, collaborative environment.
