Role Description

This full-time, on-site role is based in Pune. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Junior Purchase Engineer
to support the procurement and supply chain team. The role involves vendor coordination, purchase order processing, and ensuring timely availability of materials, components, and equipment as per project and production requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with basic knowledge of supply chain operations and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related engineering discipline.
  • 0–2 years of experience in procurement/purchase (Freshers may also apply).
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain management, procurement processes, and vendor negotiations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing suppliers and evaluating quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Raise and process purchase orders in line with company policies and requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials, components, and spare parts.
  • Maintain accurate purchase records, supplier details, and price lists.
  • Support in supplier evaluation and vendor development activities.
  • Follow up with suppliers for order acknowledgment, dispatch status, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with stores, production, and quality teams to align material requirements.
  • Assist in preparing procurement reports, MIS, and cost analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and safety guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
