Start Up is an impact accelerator, eco-system builder and leadership springboard for social entrepreneurs. We enable social entrepreneurs to thrive through design, strategy and leadership-building solutions. We seed and scale social ventures that create lasting impact in excluded communities.
WHAT WE DO
We work with social ventures (across the profit- non-profit continuum) that are at different stages in their lifecycle- seed, growth and maturity. We build enduring change models with focus on innovation, impact and sustainability.
Over 13 years, Start Up has incubated and scaled more than 100 social ventures and delivered 175 change projects in 15 states. We have trained 350 leaders of grassroots, small and medium-scale social enterprises in strategic planning and leadership building. We have also incubated incubators.
We have also led awards and fellowships including:
v The India Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award – for Jubilant Bhartia Foundation and the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship
v The Woman Exemplar Program – for CII Foundation
v The Ford Foundation Global Fellowship Program
v Search and selection of Fellows – for Ashoka: Innovators for the Public.

We are looking for an intrepreneurial professional with demonstrated leadership in the social entrepreneurship and/or development sector and a keenness to grow Start Up’s unique impact model. You will be part of an “Everybody an Intrapraneur” team that builds vibrant social ventures and an active eco-system for social entrepreneurship across India
Role: Senior Program Manager
Location: New Delhi
Work arrangement: Full-time permanent position
Reporting : The CXO team
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Strengthening and Scaling High Impact Social Change Ventures
You will partner with social entrepreneurs and non-profit leaders to seed, strengthen and scale their social impact ventures, models and programs, based on Start Up’s 8 Step Approach.
This will require you to:
Lead strategic planning, program design and sustainability building solutions and processes for high impact models. You will:
v Design and deliver program innovation, strategic planning and leadership building programs to our partners and clients in a timely and high quality way, following Start Up’s 8 Step methodology, tools, templates and processes.
v Lead the day-to-day execution of partner projects while guiding and developing individual team members, in adherence to Start Up’s 8 Project Management and Communications Manual
v Work directly with social entrepreneurs – usually on site.
v Take ownership of the overall project and its end products.
Ensure timely and high quality delivery of solutions. This will entail:
v Maintain an excellent Project Management Unit
v Coordinating regular feedback from clients and partners
v Anchor Start Up’s Performance Management System, Quarterly Meetings, Feed back circles and Staff Retreat.
2. Anchor Business Development for Start Up
You will work with the CEO to streamline and manage the business development and growth systems for Start Up
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Knowledge/ Skills
v Strong understanding of social entrepreneurship in India and globally.
v Excellent strategy, analysis and problem-solving abilities
v Excellent sector analysis, report writing and editing skills.
v Strong communication (written and oral); relationship building and coaching skills.
v Ability to deliver projects and program in a structured and process-focussed manner.
v Initiative- taking, resilience, high problem-solving abilities, attention to detail.
v Enthusiasm for travel, especially to rural locations.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
v Post-graduation, with specialization in social entrepreneurship or design and communication or economics or business studies preferred.
v Minimum 8 years of experience- in a leadership role in a social enterprise, or in a eco-system building/support organization for social entrepreneurs, or in a consulting venture.
v Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional Indian languages will be a plus.
v Excellent skills in MS office/equivalent applications, especially MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
