Location:Hyderabad, TelanganaJob Summary:

The ETL Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of data integration processes for the enterprise data warehouse environment and assisting with the same for any operational applications requiring batch data integration. The processes developed provide for the integration, manipulation and exchange of data between internal systems and with the systems of external business partners. In addition to development, the ETL developer may also engage in maintenance, administrative and governance activities for the ETL environment.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:Participate in and attend design sessions in with ETL staff, application teams and business subject matter experts to determine system integration and data warehouse requirementsDevelop processes to access and extract data from source systems, transform according to business rules and logic, and load into target systemsTest and monitor ETL processes, implementing techniques for optimizing performance and resolving data quality issuesParticipate in and conduct technical reviews and walk-throughs of system design documentation and ETL processes with senior ETL staff, IT management and IT developersImplement exception handling and data cleansing / standardization proceduresAssist in the development and regulation of best practices and standards for enterprise data integration using the ETL platform; adhere to sameAssist in the creation and maintenance of metadata and ETL documentationAssist the BI & DW development team in ensuring the availability and accuracy of data warehouse dataFollow and support the company’s adoption of data integration frameworks such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), staging, EDW and dimensional decision support structuresEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience5+ years’ experience in the design and development of Enterprise Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence systems.2+ years’ experience with data integration and systems integrationExperience with enterprise class ETL tools, preferably IBM (Ascential) DataStage.Experience following ETL design documentation and specifications to develop data integration processes.Experience with SQL and SQL scripting for relational databases especially within IBM DB2 and Oracle database environments.Experience working with various forms of data storage formats including, RDBMS, flat files, VSAM, transactional, EDI, ASCII, EBCDIC, compressed, encrypted, etc.Experience with various areas of enterprise data integration solutions including ETL to/from operational systems, data warehouse, data marts, external systemsUnderstanding of data transfer, storage and connectivity on multiple system environments include Windows, UNIX, Mainframe, AS/400Experience with batch scripting technologies in Windows and UNIX environments a plusExperience with PERL, COBOL and SAS a plusSkills and Behaviors:Working knowledge of data models, normalized and de-normalized, for OLTP and data warehouse systemsAbility to work towards multiple deadlines with shifting prioritiesAbility to work either independently or collaboratively in a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skills
