A news anchor/journalist will be responsible for delivering accurate and engaging news content to our audience on our YouTube and other digital channels. They will ideate, research, write, edit, and present news stories in an unbiased and compelling manner, ensuring we are always ahead of the beat.

Location: Mumbai

Responsibilities & Duties:

Research and Information Gathering:

- Conduct in-depth research to gather relevant information on current events, stories, trending topics.- Utilize various sources like interviews, press releases, official statements and databases to collect accurate and credible data.- Use their individual network to remain on top of developments on big stories

News Writing and Editing:

- Ideate, write, edit, and proofread scripts and stories for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to journalistic standards.- Identify angles to stories that will resonate with NEWJ’s audience

On-Air Presentation:

- Present stories in a clear and engaging manner while adhering to the NEWJ’s editorial guidelines- Conduct live interviews, discussions, and debates with guests on-air to provide diverse perspectives on news topics.

Interviews and Reporting:

- Line-up and conduct interviews with guests from various industries for exclusive coverage.- Report on location from various events, incidents, and developments to provide firsthand information to the audience.

Collaboration and Coordination:

- Collaborate with news editors, producers, and other team members to ensure cohesive and seamless news production.- Coordinate with camera operators, producers, and technical staff for smooth on-air transitions and optimal production quality.

Adherence to Journalistic Standards:

- Uphold ethical standards of journalism, including accuracy, fairness, impartiality, and respect for privacy and sensitivity.- Avoid conflicts of interest and maintain integrity in reporting and news delivery.- Continuously update knowledge about current events, industry trends, and relevant emerging technologies- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.- Must have 4-6 years’ of valid experience- Strong writing and communication skills in Hindi and conversational English.- Knowledge of media production, broadcast systems, and journalistic principles.- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.- Experience in broadcasting or journalism is a plus.- Familiarity with social media and digital platforms for news dissemination.
