L2 Oracle DBA Responsibilities
Install and configure Oracle databases on Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms
Set up standard database instances and participate in cluster setup
Experience
Perform routine maintenance: backups, patching, and minor upgrades
Manage database storage: tablespaces, partitions, and basic indexing
Implement and manage Oracle Data Pump for export/import operations
Monitor database performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
Assist in implementing database security policies (user roles, permissions)
Apply security patches as directed
Execute backup strategies using RMAN and other tools
Perform basic database recovery operations
Test and validate backup and recovery procedures
Monitor database uptime and recovery time against SLAs
Maintain documentation of database configurations and procedures
Generate regular reports on database performance and capacity
Follow runbooks and SOPs for database management and troubleshooting
Respond to and resolve common database-related incidents
Troubleshoot basic database connectivity and performance issues
Monitor system activities and logs
Perform database start-up and shutdown procedures
Manage user administration, roles, and privileges
Conduct basic performance tuning and space management
Assist in database upgrades under supervision
Implement predefined backup solutions (RMAN, Netvault)
Participate in capacity planning and change management processes
Escalate complex issues to L3 DBAs or vendors.
Experience in maintaining Oracle database on cloud platforms like AWS\Azure\GCP
