Job Description:
The Academic Counselor provides comprehensive academic advising to undergraduate students, helping them to develop and achieve their academic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the college's curriculum and requirements, as well as experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group academic advising to undergraduate students
- Assist students in selecting courses, planning their academic programs, and meeting graduation requirements
- Identify and address academic concerns, such as procrastination, test anxiety, and learning disabilities
- Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and staff
- Provide support and guidance to students facing academic challenges
- Participate in professional development activities
Qualifications:
- 6 Month to 1 years of experience in academic advising
- Strong understanding of the college's curriculum and requirements
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
