The Microsoft Windows & Devices (W+D) team is on a journey to deliver iconic end-to-end products across hardware, software, and services that people love and use every day. A fundamental part of the W+D strategy is having desirable and powerful devices that enable the experiences people want. The Windows Silicon & System Integration (WSSI) team within W+D is hiring a Senior Design Validation Engineer who will validate, benchmark breakthrough technological aspects across the Windows ecosystem for cutting-edge silicon.
We’re seeking a talented and experienced engineer who is passionate about having a hand in executing, defining, implementing, and evolving scalable engineering solutions and strategies for the validation of quality on personal computing devices.
You will need to become strongly familiar with multiple engineering systems and validation methodologies used across a breadth of technology areas such as AI, graphics, performance, and kernel mode drivers. You will be required to have strong collaborative and leadership skills as a team player to work with peers, different technology teams, organizations, external companies and service partners in order to realize our engineering, business, and customer satisfaction goals.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience Professional experience in the development and/or validation of personal computing devices, tables, mobile phones, or other mobile computer devices or accessories, gaming systems, or servers. Experience with developing and executing software testing methodologies, strategies, procedures, tools and metrics. Experience developing, debugging, and/or validating one or more of the following on Windows operating system: kernel mode device drivers, firmware. Experience with debugging kernel mode drivers or firmware. Experience in gathering and analyzing telemetry data to improve software reliability or performance.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer ScienceOR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,OR Python 7+ years experience as a Software Development Engineer, or Test or Validation Engineer, or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience developing and/or testing products across multiple release cycles in related fields 7+ years of experience programming or validating using applications or tools developed in C, C++, C#, PowerShell, Python, Visual Basic, Javascript, or similar languages.
Responsibilities
