Liaise with clients and vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of reports. Ensure availability of appropriate resources for all writing projects. Set up robust scientificwriting processes and best practices. Contribute to business development in the area of scientific writing.

Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and promote use of consistent, efficient and quality processes to meet timelines and deliverables according to requirements and standard operating procedures, and assume accountability for the deliverablesManage day-to-day operations of the writing groupEnsure delivery of services meets or exceeds Service Level AgreementsDirect activities of the group and track status of projects, providing overall project management Ensure adherence to all relevant standards, guidelines and SOPsUse metrics to track performance with respect to quality and timelines for the medical writing groupImplement process & productivity improvements as appropriate to improve operational efficiency Act as the Client Engagement Manager/Account Manager if requiredIdentify external resources for capability augmentation of the team, as required, to ensure availability of the right resources for all writing projectsResponsible for management and oversight of medical writing vendorsProvide input into individual annual objectives of team members and perform appraisal as per guidelines, thereby contributing to the development of the team members within the writing teamShare best practices across departmentsHelp with growth of scientific writing business either through existing clients or bringing new clients

Educational and Experience RequirementsPhD in Biological Science or related field with 8+ years’ relevant experience, or Master’s degree (Biological Sciences/Pharmacy) with 10+ years’ relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years’ relevant experienceExperience in people & project management for 8+ years

Technical requirementsProven effective management and leadership skillsExcellent oral & written communication skillsKnowledge of Clinical research, Good Clinical Practices & regulatory guidelinesProactive and Analytical thinkingFocus on QualityCustomer ServiceDrive for business growthDrive for resultsPlanning & PrioritizationTeamwork and cooperationCoaching and mentoring
