Role & responsibilities
- Lead procurement of raw materials, machinery, spares, and consumables.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors & suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and credit terms to ensure cost efficiency.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production.
- Monitor inventory levels, reduce wastage, and optimize stock.
- Implement procurement policies, systems, and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with production, quality, finance, and stores for smooth operations.
- Review supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement in the supply chain.
- Lead and mentor the purchase/procurement team at the plant.
