Established in 2017 and sponsored by The Rockefeller Foundation, PSF’s giving focuses on systems transformation and interventions making grants across the plastic supply chain from extraction to disposal. Recognizing that the plastics economy is driven by (and benefits) some of the most powerful vested interests around the world, the PSF is dedicated to building grassroots movement power to catalyze change now and in the future. The PSF believes that greater impact will be achieved if civil society and philanthropy work together in partnership. To date, PSF has influenced change in 61 countries and has supported 128 organizations to help reduce plastics. PSF is proud to have helped establish, and fund, the global grassroots movement Break Free From Plastic (BFFP). Over the next five years PSF seeks to work with BFFP and its allies to help further extend its reach, power, and capacity. The Role The Asia Program Manager will lead PSF’s civil society partnerships and manage end to end grant processes across the region. You will connect resources to organizations that are advancing systemic solutions to the plastics crisis, translating movement needs into fundable opportunities. This role will build and strengthen relationships with diverse movement partners and identify regional needs, trends, and opportunities. You will help strengthen philanthropic coordination and alignment in Asia, supporting trust-based and movement-centred climate philanthropy. The Program Manager will foster collaboration across civil society, maintain relationships across PSF’s existing network, and help align efforts for collective impact. This role will further improve internal grant systems and contribute to organizational learning and evaluation. You will also have a primary role within the Break Free From Plastic ecosystem, supporting day-to-day involvement, and you will help align regional strategies with PSF’s global vision. Skills Required With extensive related experience across Asia, you have a good understanding of climate, environmental or social justice contexts in the region and you are highly motivated to drive PSF’s regional work. You have demonstrated experience in program management, strategic analysis, and ideally with grant making processes, and your work reflects a commitment to equity and systemic change. You have a background in nonprofit programs or philanthropy and experience working with the plastics, petrochemical, or environmental justice ecosystems, and you have knowledge of related policy or industry trends. You are a skilled and proactive relationship-builder, with the confidence and agility to engage across diverse partners and cultures, make sound decisions, and manage regional grantees. Additionally, you can demonstrate: Proven ability to build trusted relationships with diverse civil society organisations and diverse stakeholders. Capacity to manage end-to-end grant making lifecycles; financial literacy. A collaborative, positive approach, strong ethics, and respect for lived experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to different audiences. Native fluency in Asian language preferred, ability to travel for work essential.
