Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Structural draftsman (AutoCAD) to join our structure design team with 8 year of experience with international This is a full-time on-site role for a Structural Drafter, located in Gurugram.

The Structural Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, including shop drawings, architectural drawings, and building information modeling (BIM) using appropriate software. The role requires interaction with architects and engineers to provide detailed plans and specifications for construction projects.


Daily Duties/Tasks

1.Interpreting Engineer's Designs:

  • Reviewing and understanding the architectural and engineering drawings provided by the project engineers.
  • Translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings.

2.Creating Construction Drawings:

  • Developing detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Generating 2D and 3D drawings that illustrate the structural components of a building or infrastructure.

3.Drafting Structural Details:

  • Drafting detailed plans for foundations, beams, columns, and other structural elements.
  • Ensuring that the structural drawings comply with relevant building codes and regulations.

4.Collaborating with Engineers:

  • Working closely with structural engineers and other professionals to incorporate design changes or modifications into the drawings.
  • Communicating effectively to clarify design details and address any concerns.

5.Material and Component Specifications:

  • Providing detailed specifications for materials and components used in construction.
  • Ensuring that all materials and components meet engineering standards and specifications.

6.Quantity Takeoffs:

  • Assisting in the estimation of material quantities required for construction projects.
  • Collaborating with project managers to create accurate cost estimates.

7.Quality Control:

  • Reviewing drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
  • Ensuring that all drawings and plans are clear and easy to understand for construction teams.

8.As-Built Drawings:

  • Creating as-built drawings to document any changes or modifications made during the construction process.
  • Providing accurate and updated information for future reference.

9.Staying Informed:

  • Keeping up-to-date with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to structural engineering and drafting.
  • Continuously improving skills and staying informed about advancements in drafting technology.

10.Meeting Deadlines:

  • Managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Prioritizing tasks to ensure that drawings are completed on schedule.
  • In summary, a structural draftsman plays a crucial role in the construction process by translating engineering designs into detailed drawings, collaborating with professionals, ensuring compliance with standards, and contributing to the overall success of construction projects.

Requirements

• 8 years of total experience and 3 year of International work

• Understanding of Architecture, Structure & MEP Systems.

• Knowledge of, and proven practical background in, Autodesk

• Solid understanding of legacy CAD applications and practices, particularly AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with Design Visualization applications such as Autodesk 360 (Cloud Rendering), 30 Studio Max.
