Our digital media platform, SME Futures is India’s largest SME Focused media website. It is a fair, objective, incisive and data-driven media outlet for the sector and the general reader. Our team of young journalists will hit the road across the country, peep into the chambers of policymakers and industry bodies and speak with stakeholders from the common consumer to traders and producers in text and video formats to offer its readers a comprehensive reportage.
We are looking for a creative Video Producer-cum-Anchor with a background in news for our digital video team in Noida. We expect you to be able to write a story, edit video as well as liaise with business leaders throughout the production process.
You will work on our ambitious news-driven videos as well as on business and social documentaries. Applicants should be comfortable working as part of a team, but also work as a one-man-band, taking a story from idea to final product including story development, writing, shooting and post production.
You will also collaborate with our Head of Content and the Video Editor to develop film stories on Technology, Finance, Business, and Society issues. You will look for creative ways to tell a story using interviews, props, graphics, and other techniques.
You need to be:
- Be a story-teller through your videos- Look for creative ways to tell a story using interviews, props, graphics, and other techniques- Thrive to interview and cover Business Leaders and Political figures, Industry events.- Collaborate with content team to identify, develop the films and documentaries.- Make timely and effective decisions to meet all production deadlines- Researching news stories- Manage News section on news portal- Pitching story ideas to supervisors- Scheduling and conducting interviews to gain information or opinions about a story- Providing news and story updates as more information becomes available- Choosing which stories to air and organizing them in a logical order- Writing scripts to read on-air- Perform live shots as assigned- Be able to shoot and edit videos if necessary.- Collaborating with field reporters during live broadcasts- Collaborating with photographers, videographers, writers and editors to produce a story- Establishing a social media presence and using it to engage with the audience- Maintaining a network of industry contacts
Key Skills required:
- Recent production and post-production experience- A passion for news and an understanding of editorial standard methodologies- Video editing experience, preferably in Adobe Premiere- Experience working with DSLR Cameras- Scripting and interviewing skills- Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel (including nights, weekends, and holidays)- A clear understanding of journalism process and ethics. Candidate must possess excellent writing and proofing skills and is expected to create content for both web and social media platforms that is creative, concise, of excellent quality and free of typographical errors.- Be a team player
