Senior Buyer for COTS Drones

GovernmentGPT, Inc. is a pioneering U.S. company focused on developing a cost-efficient supply chain to provide high-quality hobbyist, police, and fire first-person view drones for export to the United States from India. We are dedicated to building substantial second source assembly from Commerical Off the Shelf components (COTS) l better aligned to democratic nations, while trying to keep costs low. We will design and distribute drones to the United States and Europe, and manufacture in Nagpur India.
Role Description
The Senior Buyer for COTS Drones will be responsible for managing the procurement process of commercial off-the-shelf drones within India for domestic use and export. This role demands a keen understanding of the drone market, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to ensure that all acquisitions meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers and trends in the COTS drone industry.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals for international markets.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms for quality, cost, and delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and partners.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms and quality standards.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing and negotiations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement and purchasing
- Strong knowledge of export regulations and compliance
- Ability to source and evaluate suppliers
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
- Knowledge of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) drones and related technologies
- Experience in the defense or aerospace industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
