Our research combines clinical, ex vivo, and in vivo studies to explore the magical world of plant-based fibers and the gut microbiome.


Role Overview:


Are you passionate about microbes and love the idea of working with gut bacteria? Do you dream about fermentations, fiber, and funky microbes? We are on the lookout for an experienced Microbiologist to join our team at the Venture Center, NCL Innovation Park, Pune. You will play a crucial role in exploring how fiber-rich foods can turn our gut bacteria into superheroes ‍♂️


Key Responsibilities:


1.Ex Vivo Experiments :

•Conduct ex vivo studies on gut microbiome samples, including prepping, mixing with fiber-rich formulations, and analyzing the microbial metabolites.

•Develop and fine-tune protocols to cultivate happy gut microbes , profile their metabolite production, and record data like a pro.

•Keep meticulous records of your microbe magic ✨ in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

2.Support for Clinical Trials :

•Team up with our clinical trial squad to ensure everything runs smoothly — from recruiting participants to collecting those all-important stool and blood samples.

•Manage the careful handling, storage, and transportation of specimens with the utmost care.

•Monitor participants for safety and keep a sharp eye out for any unexpected events — your gut instincts will be key

3.Data Analysis and Reporting :

•Dive into the data Analyze microbiome changes using cool bioinformatics tools and statistical software.

•Transform numbers into narratives — present your findings to both our internal teams and external partners in a way that makes everyone say “Wow”

•Ensure all data handling is squeaky clean and ethically sound.

4.Collaboration and Communication :

•Work closely with a fantastic team of nutrition scientists, clinicians, and statisticians to design, experiment, and analyze results.

•Share your exciting findings in team meetings and brainstorming sessions .

•Be the voice of our gut-friendly research Prepare and present discoveries to senior management, collaborators, and the wider world.


Qualifications:


•PhD or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.

•At least 3-5 years of experience in microbiology research, especially in clinical or ex vivo settings.

•Strong expertise in microbiome studies, microbial culture techniques, metabolomics, and bioinformatics.

•Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS) and bioinformatics tools.

•Familiarity with clinical trial protocols, GCP/ICH guidelines, and ethical standards.

•Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

•A team player with a passion for microbes and making science fun


Preferred Skills:


•Experience in human clinical trials, especially in the exciting world of nutrition or microbiome research.

•Knowledge of next-gen sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics workflows.

•Familiarity with FSSAI guidelines and regulatory requirements for clinical studies in India.

•A flair for scientific publications and a knack for storytelling with data.
