Job DescriptionJoin Our Team as a Structural Engineer in Moses Lake, WA

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Moses Lake, WA. This role requires a proactive and organized individual capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, focusing on accuracy and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning:

Prepare plans and specifications for projects, develop preliminary cost estimates, and manage project budgets.

Project Management:

Oversee assigned projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, deadlines, and budgets.

Construction Coordination:

Coordinate contract payments, resolve construction problems, and implement design fixes in the field.

Team Leadership:

Direct technical staff in drafting, surveying, and inspection duties.

Technical Reporting:

Prepare technical reports on engineering design decisions for assigned projects and activities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Organize and lead pre-construction conferences with relevant stakeholders, including agencies, contractors, and service providers.

Consultant Management:

Prepare and manage consultant agreements for various services.

Design Facilitation:

Facilitate the design of building facades and liaise with professional staff such as architects.

Public Interaction:

Respond to questions from contractors, public agencies, officials, and the general public regarding policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of Professional Structural Engineer (SE) experience, including project design and construction management.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in performing engineering computations and preparing engineering designs.

Licensing:

Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Washington. Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training, with the ability to obtain Washington state registration within one year of hire.

Compliance:

Must be able to pass a federal background check and work on public works projects.

Software Proficiency:

Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided drafting programs.

Preferred Skills:

Code Compliance:

Knowledge and use of Washington State Energy Code compliance.

Software Skills:

Proficiency with phone systems (Mitel) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Communication:

Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Regulatory Knowledge:

Understanding of state and federal regulations and standards for design, bidding, and construction.

Reporting:

Ability to analyze, interpret, and prepare technical reports.

Judgment:

Skill in exercising professional engineering judgment to achieve results consistent with objectives.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Work Environment:

The work is typically performed in an office setting and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to machinery with moving parts.

Physical Demands:

The work involves sitting at a desk or table, standing, and walking.
