Scope Of Work*PrimaryShared Across Functionally• Lead Buyers will be responsible for contributing to, or leading execution of, all SCM activities from the development of Category Strategies through to contract closure, supplier performance measurement and documentation.
• Safety: Providing a safe working environment for SCM staff within his / her organization.
• Controls: Ensuring that all staff within his / her control are compliant with adopted SCM processes, ethics and business practices standards.
• Business Management support: Developing exceptional expertise in the subject categories, and becoming an acknowledged reference point across LTHE for data and advice thereon.
• People: Operating a fit-for-purpose Category organization which maximizes performance and encourages personal and professional development.
• Understand the potential impact of supply market, cost drivers and trends of the industry on category sourcing strategy.
• Establish excellent working relationships with project teams, reliant on the Category, gaining trust through a deep understanding of Categories and resolve issues and priorities.
• Providing strategic advice and support to Category Managers based on practical experience, whilst having a detailed focus on operational excellence in contracting, controls and contract closure.
• In conjunction with Category Manager, develop and update Category (including total delivered / landed cost and cost models / cost sheets for sub-categories) and sourcing strategies (bidding, auction, alliances, capacity blocking etc.) Conduct category value improvement workshops with LTHE stakeholders.
• Finalize supplier selection criteria with stakeholders.
• Guide Category Buyer in bid evaluation.
• Support Category Manager in preparation of fact-based negotiation pack and negotiation strategy.
 • Conduct meetings with suppliers for negotiations when required.
