Responsibilities :

- Design, test, and optimize database systems to enhance speed and performance.

- Conduct comprehensive system assessments to pinpoint areas impacting performance.

- Adapt systems to efficiently manage high-volume data traffic.

- Collaborate closely with our development team, integrating database solutions within Ruby on Rails applications.

- Implement industry-leading practices in database management and data modeling.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in Rails applications.

Requirements :

- Proven Ruby on Rails Expertise : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in application development using Ruby on Rails.

- Database Management Proficiency : Strong experience in PostgreSQL, with a focus on designing, optimizing, and managing databases.

- Performance Optimization : Proven ability to enhance database performance, particularly in high-volume data environments.

- System Assessment Skills : Experience in identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in complex systems.

- Testing and Debugging Acumen : Proficient in test-driven development, including unit, functional, and integration testing.

- The ideal candidate should demonstrate significant expertise in managing database performance within complex production applications, with specific examples of past work.

Desirable Additional :

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in the Ruby on Rails community.

- Experience in managing Heroku Postgres.
