The Head of DevOps is responsible for overseeing the entire DevOps function within the organization.
This role involves leading the development and implementation of processes, tools, and methodologies to streamline the development, deployment, and operations of software systems.
The Head of DevOps will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, IT operations, and product management, to ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality software.
Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of DevOps engineers.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members.
- Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Define and implement the DevOps strategy and roadmap for the organization.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Oversee containerization and orchestration using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement and manage monitoring and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of production systems.
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Implement and manage security best practices for cloud environments.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs.
- Collaborate closely with software development, IT operations, and product management teams.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
Qualifications :
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and methodologies, including Agile and Lean principles.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated services.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
