Job Description:Location : PuneWorking Hours: 12 noon to 9 pm ISTOverview:-We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hybrid Infrastructure Operations Specialist to manage, maintain, and optimize our critical IT infrastructure, with a specialized focus on Dell server, storage, and data protection technologies. This role is essential for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our core data center and enterprise services. The Senior NOC/SOC Operations. Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end monitoring, management, and troubleshooting of Dell server, storage, and backup infrastructure supporting Telco-grade environments.The role demands strong technical expertise in Dell Power Edge servers, Power Vault /Power Store /Unity storage, and Dell EMC Data Protection Suite(Avamar, Networker, or Data Domain). The engineer will handle incident, problem, and change management (L0-L3) functions, ensuring maximum uptime, data integrity, and backup compliance across production and DR environments.Key Responsibilities:-- Server Administration (Dell Power Edge, i DRAC, Open Manage).- Manage the full lifecycle of Dell Power Edge servers, including installation, configuration, patching, and decommissioning (physical and virtual).- Administer and troubleshoot Windows and/or Linux operating systems running on Dell hardware.- Utilize Dell i DRAC and other management tools for remote server management, monitoring, and firmware updates.- Perform day-to-day monitoring and management of Dell Power Edge physical and virtual servers.- Manage server lifecycle - provisioning, patching, firmware upgrades, and decommissioning.- Use i DRAC / Dell Open Manage Enterprise (OME) for health checks, alert handling, and proactive maintenance.- Coordinate with virtualization teams for ESXi, RHV, or Hyper-V host integration.- Troubleshoot hardware failures - disks, memory, PSU, fans - and coordinate OEM replacement.- Implement and maintain BIOS, RAID, and firmware baselines across server fleets.- Storage Management (Dell Technologies)- Configure, provision, and maintain Dell enterprise storage systems (e.g., Dell Power Store, Power Max, or Power Vault).- Perform storage-related tasks including LUN provisioning, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and zoning.- Manage Fibre Channel (FC) and/or i SCSI SAN environments ensuring optimal data access and redundancy.- Administer and monitor Dell storage arrays, ensuring optimal performance and redundancy.- Perform LUN provisioning, RAID configuration, volume expansion, and snapshot management.- Troubleshoot latency, replication, and capacity issues in coordination with application and virtualization teams.- Manage SAN/NAS environments - zoning, mapping, and connectivity validation.- Implement data tiering and replication policies for high availability and DR readiness.- Implement and manage storage efficiency features such as thin provisioning, deduplication, and replication.- Data Protection and Backup (Dell Solutions)- Design, deploy, and manage the enterprise backup and recovery environment using Dell Power Protect solutions (e.g., Data Domain, Net Worker, or Avamar).- Monitor daily backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and manage retention policies to meet compliance requirements.- Conduct regular data restoration tests to ensure the integrity of the disaster recovery plan.- Oversee backup scheduling, job monitoring, and retention policy enforcement.- Manage backup repositories, capacity utilization, and deduplication ratios.- Perform backup restores, validations, and health checks regularly.- Ensure compliance with RPO/RTO and regulatory data protection standards.- Handle integration of backup solutions with databases, virtual machines, and applications.- Maintain backup catalogs and documentation for audit and disaster recovery testing.- Perform capacity planning and optimization for backup storage (e.g., Data Domain or Power Protect Appliances).- Monitoring, Incident, and Change Management- Monitor server, storage, and backup infrastructure using Dell Open Manage, Solar Winds, Zabbix, or equivalent tools.- Acknowledge and resolve incidents per SLA timelines; escalate to OEM (Dell Support) when required.- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and maintain corrective/preventive action plans.- Execute planned changes and firmware updates during maintenance windows following ITIL practices.Key Skills and Qualifications:-- s Server Platforms: Dell Power Edge, i DRAC, Open Manage Enterprise, BIOS/firmware upgrades.- Storage Solutions: Dell EMC power Vault, Power Store, Unity, Isilon, or Compellent.- Backup & DR Solutions: Dell EMC Networker, Avamar, Data Domain, or Power Protect Data Manager.- Monitoring Tools: Open Manage, Nagios Zabbix, Solar Winds, or Prometheus.- Operating Systems: Red Hat Linux, Windows Server.- Networking Basics: i SCSI, FC SAN, VLAN, multipathing.- Incident & Change Tools: Service Now, Remedy, or Jira Service Management.- Preferred: Experience integrating Dell environments with virtualization (Red Hat).- Certification Details (Dell Proven Professional)Foundational:o Dell Technologies Certified Associate - Information Storage and Management (D-ISM-FN)o Dell Technologies Certified Associate - Power EdgeSpecialist/Implementation (Highly Desirable):o Dell Technologies Certified Specialist - Implementation Engineer, Power Store Solutions (DES-1221) or equivalent for another Dell Storage platform.o Dell Technologies Certified Specialist - Implementation Engineer, Power Protect DD (or Net Worker/Avamar equivalent)o Dell Technologies Certified Specialist - Implementation Engineer, Power Edge MX Modular (if applicable to your environment).Other Relevant Certifications:o Red Hat Openshifto Microsoft Certified: Azure/Windows Server Administratoro Comp TIA Server+ or Storage+Infrastructure Operations Requirements:-- This role is firmly in the Operations sphere, requiring a focus on stability, maintenance, and responsiveness:- ITIL Framework: Practical experience working within the ITIL processes, specifically Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.- Monitoring and Alerting: Experience configuring and responding to alerts from enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Nagios, Zabbix) for hardware health, performance, and Capacity.- Patching and Firmware Management: Establishing and executing a regular cadence for applying OS patches application updates, and critical firmware updates to Dell Servers, Storage, and Backup appliances.- Disaster Recovery (DR) Readiness: Active participation in designing, documenting, and executing scheduled Disaster Recovery (DR) drills to validate recovery procedures for critical services.- Security Compliance: Ensuring all systems are configured and maintained in line with internal security policies, including access controls, hardening standards, and encryption protocols.
