We are looking for aNetwork Subject Matter Expert specializing infirewall policy creation within an Operational Technology (OT)environment for one of ourorganizations.

JobSummary

  • We are looking for a highlyskilled Network Subject Matter Expert specializing in firewallpolicy creation within an Operational Technology (OT)environment.
  • As a Network Subject MatterExpert (NRA 2.0 Stage 2) your primary responsibility will be todefine and implement comprehensive firewall policies to safeguardcritical OT systems and networks. Your expertise in networksecurity and indepth understanding of OT environments will becrucial in ensuring the protection availability and compliance ofindustrial controlsystems.
  • You will be a member of theclient APMT Industrial Infrastructure platform reporting directlyto the Senior Engineering Manager of the Edge Communicationsproduct. Your role will be aligned with the NRA (Network ReferenceArchitecture) 2.0 DeploymentProgram.

Responsibilities

  • Create and developcomprehensive firewall policies for OT networks and systemsguaranteeing robust security and uninterruptedoperations.
  • Collaborate closely withcrossfunctional teams to gather requirements and gain insights intothe specific security challenges faced by OTsystems.
  • Implement and manage firewallpolicies leveraging the VMware NSXTplatform.
  • Provide expert guidance andsupport to internal stakeholders regarding firewall policyrelatedmatters.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complexnetwork and security issues thoroughly investigating and analyzingincidents as theyarise.
  • Support Program GoLive milestonesand assist during Hypercareperiods.
  • Document firewall policiesconfigurations and changes maintaining accurate records for futurereference andaudits.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree inComputer Science Information Technology or a related field.Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA Security CCNP Routing &Switching CISSP VMWare Certified Network Virtualisation) areadvantageous.
  • Experience in defining andimplementing firewall policies within OTenvironments.
  • The candidate must have a goodunderstanding of Routing and Switching technologies andprotocols.
  • The candidate must have workingexperience in configuring and managing VMWare NSXT based networktechnologies
  • Understanding otherEnterprisegrade firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA Checkpointand Palo Alto is anadvantage.
  • The candidate must have workingexperience with the Cisco Nexus 9K series datacenter switchingplatform.
  • Understanding of OT applicationscommonly used in terminal operations including but not limited toTerminal Operating Systems (TOS) Gate Operating Systems (GOS) EDICCTV Access Control systems SCADA solutions PLCsetc.
  • Solid understanding of OTapplications and communication protocols such as MODBUS ProfinetMQTT etc
  • Solid understanding of commonenterprise applications and communication protocols (ActiveDirectory DNS NTP Syslog RDP HTTP/HTTPS database productsetc).
  • Understanding of forward andreverse proxy technologies is anadvantage.
  • Strong analytical andproblemsolving skills with the ability to assess complex securityissues and develop effectivesolutions.
  • Excellent communication andcollaboration skills able to work effectively with crossfunctionalteams and stakeholders at variouslevels.
  • Proactive mindset with acontinuous learning approach to keep uptodate with emergingtechnologies and security threats in the OTdomain.
  • Demonstrated ability to workunder pressure prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic andchallengingenvironment.
  • Strong attention to detail and acommitment to maintaining high standards of security andcompliance.
