Ops Support Specialist

The Ops Support Specialist provides operational support, including reconciling multiple portfolios using accounting principles,investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies and associated risks, performing daily matching and an address exception, managing third-party wire and payment reconciliations, preparing and posting journal entries. A sound understanding of banking and credit cardproducts is essential.The overall objective of this role is to provide day-to-day operations support in alignment with Citi operations support infrastructure andprocesses.Responsibilities:• Perform daily reconciliation of multiple portfolios based on the knowledge of accounting treatment of entriesResearch & Investigation on open reconciliation items and identify any risk by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, andinterpreting data•Performing daily matching for all reconciliations in Recon Frontier by certain criteria and analyzing, coordinate with multipleteams on open exception items•• Handle third party agencies wire and payment recons• Investigate, prepare and post the Journal entries based on the open items/exceptionsCommunicate daily with management on quality, Management Information System (MIS) indicators, as well as providingwritten and oral communications to supported business areas for approval of correct financial entries and resolution ofincorrect entries.•Identify training needs within the team and develop and deliver relevant training programs. This includes assessing current skilllevels, understanding future needs, and designing engaging and effective training materials.•• Assist with ongoing Lean and process improvement projects• Resolve complex problems based on best practice/precedence, escalating as neededAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation andsafeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering toPolicy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating,managing and reporting control issues with transparency•Qualifications:• 2-5 years of relevant experience• Experience working in a business office or operational environment• Proficient computer and math skills with a focus on complex databases and spreadsheets• Demonstrates technical and administrative expertise• Consistently demonstrates attention to detail• Demonstrated knowledge of activities, policies, and procedures of a basic work areaEducation:Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceLocation: Chennai, INThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
