Assistant Store Manager

JUSTDOGS is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our retail location. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience for pet parents and ensuring the highest standards in store cleanliness, sales, and pet care services. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will oversee the store’s retail and spa appointments while ensuring that all online orders are processed efficiently. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a dynamic pet care brand.

Key Responsibilities :

Customer Experience :

  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with pet parents and providing solutions to meet their needs.
  • Ensure customers are knowledgeable about product offerings, including food, toys, accessories, and services.
  • Address customer concerns or issues in a professional and empathetic manner, ensuring positive experiences.
  • Assist in the management of customer complaints or feedback, escalating when necessary.

Retail Sales :

  • Assist the Store Manager in achieving store sales targets and overall store profitability.
  • Drive sales by promoting products and services tailored to pet parents’ needs, including food, toys, grooming, and health products.
  • Ensure a visually appealing and organized retail environment to encourage customer engagement and sales.
  • Support team members in sales activities, ensuring they are knowledgeable about product features and benefits.

Store Hygiene :

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including grooming areas and product displays.
  • Ensure that all hygiene protocols are followed for pet safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee store opening and closing duties, including restocking, tidying, and securing the store.

Spa Appointments :

  • Manage and schedule grooming spa appointments for pets, ensuring availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist customers with booking appointments, explaining available services, and making recommendations.
  • Ensure grooming staff adhere to high-quality pet care standards and meet scheduled appointment times.

Online Orders :

  • Assist in processing online orders, ensuring accuracy in picking, packing, and shipment.
  • Communicate with customers regarding their online orders, including tracking updates and order issues.
  • Ensure that online inventory is accurately reflected in the store and online systems.

Inventory Management :

  • Assist in managing inventory levels, restocking shelves, and ensuring the availability of high-demand products.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to minimize shrinkage and ensure product availability.


Qualifications :

  • Graduate or (a degree in retail management or related field is a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience in retail management, preferably in a pet-related or customer-facing environment.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a genuine passion for pets and pet care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
