Packaging Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and progress packaging solutions for New Product Development projects, ensuring packaging is fit for purpose (by completing testing and trials) as well as delivering solutions which delights consumer & in line with sustainability ambition
  • End to end project management for packaging development projects for FMCG / F&B organizations.
  • Identify and implement potential cost saving activities for assigned packaging portfolio.
  • To do competitor benchmarking, design & development, specifications, understanding on material consumption, productivity improvement etc
  • Carry out Packaging qualification testing including transit test etc. , interpret results, prepare reports and communicate results/recommendations to the multifunctional project team to deliver the packaging activities.
  • Lead / support packaging development from brief definition through to proving manufacture at scale on innovation, renovation and operational (cost savings, quality, complexity reduction) projects, on time in full, by following best practice in packaging


Key Skills:

• The candidate should have working knowledge of key packaging technology areas, development

processes, functional specification management with good knowledge of the manufacturing processes

• Understanding of interaction of packs and extended supply chain elements.

• Enterprising, technology driven & problem-solving mindset.

• Accountable and committed – having customer centric approach

• Bias for action and high sense of accountability and responsibility is must.

• Focus on Growth mindset and consumer centricity.

• Ability to work with diverse people/functions across geographies.

• Good communications skills. Must effectively communicate on technical issues with other technical personnel as well as manage business communication with senior stakeholders
