Job Role:

Seeking an experienced Computer Vision & AI/ML Engineer

to build a platform that extracts system design inputs from documents & site surveys (photos, maps, videos, homes, land, drone survey etc.). The platform will analyze data using computer vision models and OCR to extract key information required for designing solar power plants. The platform will integrate with intermediate tools (Excel/web-based tools) for output generation. The documents and survey information could be located in various 3
rd

party applications hosted on the Cloud / SaaS. The Engineer will weigh the architectural trade-offs and the technical debt accumulated as decisions are made for execution for medium and long term impact.

Job Description:

·      Develop computer vision models to process images of roofs, electrical panels, attics, garages, meters, other home elements, maps and other image or video information.

·      Extract critical design parameters by processing images and other documents required to complete the design.

·      Build scalable, production-ready pipelines for image ingestion, processing, feature extraction, and interface integration.

·      Train models using custom datasets.

·      Optimize models for speed and accuracy using transfer learning (like YOLO or other) or vision transformer architectures.

·      Weigh multiple approaches to choose the most appropriate methodology, being highly aware of the technical debt that accumulates along the process and options gained / missed during the execution.

·      Collaborate with domain / solar design experts to improve models and ensure output aligns with solar system design requirement.

·      Integrate the output with a frontend system (basic webpage or Excel or third-party SaaS applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Box etc.).

·      Continuously test and refine model to improve accuracy, reliability and speed.

Required Qualification & Attributes:

·

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related technical field.

·

3–6 years of experience in computer vision, image processing, or ML.

·

Strong sense of product ownership.

·

Excellent communication—ability to gather requirements and explain technical solutions & challenges.

·

Self-driven, detail-oriented, quality-focused.

·

Knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD will be preferred.

Required Skills:

·

Strong understanding of Computer Vision models & selecting the appropriate one to understand & interpret visual content of images, object detection, OCR understanding.

·

Advanced Python programming skills (relevant libraries); experience with backend systems, APIs, and UI integration.

·

Familiarity with cloud-based model deployment (AWS Sagemaker, Google Cloud Vision AI, etc.), CI/CD, and scalable software architecture.

·

Expertise in object detection & extracting texts from images using OCR & other technology.

·

Experience in automating Excel or working with spreadsheet APIs.

·

Bonus: Experience working with solar companies, drone image processing, or real-estate imagery.
