Function Overview

The Digital and Technology team at General Mills stands as the largest and foremost unit, dedicated to exploring the latest trends and innovations in technology while leading the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the organization. Collaborating closely with global business teams, the focus is on understanding business models and identifying opportunities to leverage technology for increased efficiency and disruption. The team's expertise spans a wide range of areas, including AI/ML, Data Science, IoT, NLP, Cloud, Infrastructure, RPA and Automation, Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, Blockchain, SAP S4 HANA and Enterprise Architecture. Purpose of the role

The Google Analytics Analyst is key to our digital strategy, using data to improve our online performance. This role involves managing Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and server-side tags. The Analyst will make sure data is tracked properly, follow privacy rules, and help with SEO improvements, to enhance user experience and business result.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Google Tag Manager Management

Manage ongoing tag management and governance Maintenance of GTM user access and permissions Modifications and creation of GTM containers Any GTM configurations required for enhanced tracking Create tag requirements/specifications document for website development team to add if code is required to be deployed on source code of website S

Server - Side Google Tag Manager Management

Implement, expand, and manage server-side tag manager environment Configure and evaluate existing tag deployment and establish best practices for new model – client side v server side Create documentation of existing environment and establish deployment process Management of 3rd Party Pixels – Pear Commerce, Paid Media, Social Integrations etc Establish tag request and implementation process with Performance Media and UM teams Creation of Conversion Events and Tracking for GTM and Google Analytics Testing/Debugging/Validation of tags to ensure proper tag deployment & configuration

One Trust Compliance

Ensure OneTrust compliance across all cookies, privacy and consent settings within GTM Work with sites and services team to identify offending cookies and troubleshoot solutions hard-coded onsite Manage and expand Google Consent Mode for international and eventual NAR-based websites

Google Analytics and New Website Setup 

Manage user permissions to all Google Analytics 4 properties Setup of new Google Analytics 4 properties and assist with creation of underlying dataLayer in compliance with Google recommendations/best practice and existing Measurement standards Establish BigQuery connections to existing GCP environment Manage GA4 property linking with broader Google Marketing Platform in service of PMA and UM

Technical SEO Support

Assist sites and services team on technical support and functionality of SEO improvements Manage Core Web Vitals reporting and identify areas of opportunity Monitor and measure the impact of changes to site performance and CWV

New Tag Implementation Process

Clean up of existing Google Tag Manager environment and deprecation of Universal Analytics tags or those which have expired Update documentation with information about all tags/pixels that are present on site Testing of current tag setup and configuration to ensure efficiency 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Google Analytics

Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Setting up and managing GA4 properties Linking GA4 properties with Google Marketing Platform Establishing BigQuery connections in a GCP environment

Google Tag Manager

Managing GTM environments, including user access and permissions Modifying and creating GTM containers Implementing and managing server-side GTM Creating and documenting tag requirements and specifications Testing, debugging, and validating GTM tags

Third Party Pixel Managment 

Implementing and managing 3rd party pixels (e.g., Pear Commerce, Paid Media, Social Integrations) Creating and managing conversion events and tracking

SQL Query Writing and Tableau

Writing queries on SQL for Data extraction Preparing reports using Tableau

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical SEO

Supporting technical SEO improvements Managing Core Web Vitals reporting and identifying optimization opportunities Monitoring and measuring site performance impacts

Web Development Knowledge
