Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Agriculture Warehousing Expert with deep experience in dry and cold storage management for agricultural commodities. The successful candidate will oversee the effective handling, drying, and storage of various crops, ensuring the preservation of quality and optimization of warehouse resources. The role requires a thorough understanding of post-harvest storage processes, including moisture control, cold storage management, and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Dry Storage Operations :
Manage dry storage processes for agricultural products such as grains, pulses, seeds, and cereals, ensuring optimal moisture control and ventilation for long-term preservation.
Implement industry best practices for the drying of crops, reducing spoilage and improving storage efficiency.
Cold Storage Operations :
Oversee the cold storage facilities for perishable agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, and dairy.
Ensure proper temperature, humidity, and ventilation control in cold storage units to prolong shelf life and maintain product quality.
Monitor storage conditions and perform regular inspections to prevent spoilage, shrinkage, or damage.
Warehouse Management :
Supervise all day-to-day operations of dry and cold storage facilities, including inventory tracking, product intake, and dispatch.
Develop and enforce procedures for proper storage, handling, and preservation of agricultural goods, maintaining high standards of efficiency and safety.
Ensure accurate documentation and inventory management using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock levels and ensure timely deliveries.
Compliance & Safety :
Ensure all warehousing and storage operations comply with government regulations, food safety standards, and quality management protocols.
Implement and maintain hygiene and safety standards to prevent contamination or spoilage of stored goods.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including cold chain logistics standards.
Inventory & Logistics Management :
Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to coordinate the smooth movement of goods in and out of storage facilities.
Optimize warehouse space utilization while maintaining easy access to stored products.
Manage stock levels and plan storage capacity based on incoming shipments, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
Team Management & Training :
Lead, train, and manage a team of warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures for dry and cold storage.
Provide guidance and performance feedback to team members, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Warehousing Management, or a related field.
8-10 years of relevant experience in agriculture warehousing , with expertise in dry storage and cold storage management.
Strong understanding of crop drying techniques, cold chain management, and post-harvest storage solutions.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance , food safety standards , and industry best practices in storage and warehousing.
Preferred:
Experience managing large-scale agricultural storage facilities, especially with cold chain logistics for perishable goods.
Knowledge of government schemes and incentives related to agricultural warehousing and infrastructure.
