Role Overview:

As an Oracle Database Administrator (L3), you will be responsible for the design, implementation, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, and advanced troubleshooting of Oracle databases in mission-critical environments. This is a senior-level position that requires deep technical expertise, the ability to handle escalations, and close collaboration with application, infrastructure, and security teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L3 support for Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, and newer).
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate).
  • Perform database performance tuning (SQL tuning, AWR, ASH, partitioning, indexing strategies).
  • Ensure database security, auditing, and compliance with enterprise policies.
  • Design and manage high availability (RAC, ASM, Data Guard, clustering solutions).
  • Implement and maintain database monitoring, capacity planning, and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues escalated from L1/L2 teams.
  • Collaborate with developers, application owners, and system admins to optimize database usage.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and provide RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for P1/P2 incidents.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 712+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.
  • Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments (shell scripting for automation).
  • Experience with database security, encryption, auditing, and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle DB solutions (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure) is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to work in rotational shift (shift & cab allowances are provided).
