About the Role


As a Data Governance Engineerpart of the Risk Data Hub Data Management Team, you will be supported by engineers, solution architects and data governors to understand your application end to end, and to develop the Data Quality capability further. You will be collaborating within a team to develop the future Data Management approach for Risk Data Hub, engineering new solutions, bringing in improvements to the existing solutions, monitoring applications and in case of any service interruptions, you will restore service quickly either through the application of workarounds or development of permanent fixes. It’s an exciting time to be part of this service with one of the large scale data hub on GCP for ANZ.

What will your day look like?

Developing a future product for Data Quality on GCP which will look to support the delivery of Data Management Controls. 

Collaborating with the data engineering teams across the initiatives, providing prompt support to eliminate impediments, streamling build and deployment processes.

Continuous improvement and change: Contribute to new design patterns in building reusable config driven frameworks and build automated solutions which brings efficiency and effectiveness for business and platform.

CI/CD: Work with Github, Cloud Source Repositories, Cloudbuild, Artifactory to support and improve the deployment of engineering solutions into GCP environment

Develop and maintain automation frameworks for ongoing monitoring, testing, and optimization of the platform

Owning and delivering the user stories, prioritised for technology and business delivery as a Sprint scope, by leading a group of engineers working within the Platform

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent practical experience in Data Engineering. 

Experience in working with any Cloud technologies preferably GCP

Demonstrable experience and strong background in data processing and software engineering and can build high quality, scalable solutions.

Strong Software Engineering experience with proficiency in Python and Terraform.

Strong Problem Solving Skills

Good Understanding or Experience with container/orchestration tools Kubernetes.

Experience in agile environments and development workflows using GIT or similar tools, and CI/CD tools

Any GCP certification (Professional or Associate level)
