As a Senior Linux Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing embedded Linux systems for our advanced textile quality control products. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with international teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will be employed by Uster Technologies India, reporting to the Indian team leader while being part of an international project team led by a Product Owner in Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded Linux systems using Yocto and Bitbake.
  • Configure and optimize system components, libraries, and services.
  • Implement system improvements including boot time and performance optimizations.
  • Automate build and deployment processes using Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Ensure system security through patching and certificate management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software architecture.
  • Conduct static code analysis and maintain code quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Embedded Software development.
  • Strong knowledge in Linux OS, Kernel, SystemD, and Bash scripting.
  • Proven hands-on experience in Yocto and Bitbake is a must
  • Familiarity with kas is a plus.
  • Programming experience in C++; basic knowledge of C# and Java.
  • Proficient in Python; knowledge of Perl is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure IoT and Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Docker containers, CLion, CMake, and GIT.
  • Experience with static code analysis tools (e.g., Clang-tidy).
  • Understanding of security concepts such as encryption and certificate handling.
  • Experience with x86-64 and ARM hardware architectures (e.g., Raspberry Pi).
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).

  • Experience with system-level debugging and performance profiling.
  • Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
  • Interest in continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies.
