Software Development Engineer (SDE 3) - Frontend Development


About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE 3) specializing in frontend development to join our innovative team. This role is perfect for a highly skilled professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in JavaScript and at least 3 years working on React Native-based Android and iOS applications.


Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Architect, design, and develop high-quality, responsive mobile applications using React Native, TypeScript/JavaScript, ES6, Babel, and Redux/MobX.
  • Implement and maintain features for both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code, adhering to best practices.

Web Fundamentals:

  • Utilize proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to build and maintain web applications.
  • Apply understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms within the JavaScript ecosystem.

Mobile Development:

  • Leverage knowledge of Android or iOS fundamentals, including the build process using tools like XCode and Gradle.
  • Integrate web services using RESTful APIs and JSON.
  • Write native iOS or Android code as needed for specific features.

Performance Optimization:

  • Optimize application performance, ensuring seamless user experiences across different devices and browsers.
  • Address and resolve cross-browser compatibility issues.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Implement Test Driven Development (TDD) practices using libraries such as Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, Sinon, and Karma.
  • Conduct thorough unit testing and ensure code reliability.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Backend, UX/UI, Product Management, and QA, to deliver high-quality products.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to decision-making processes.

Research and Innovation:

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve development efficiency and product quality.



Qualifications Required:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in JavaScript development.
  • At least 3 years of experience in developing React Native-based Android and iOS applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of React Native, React TypeScript/JavaScript, ES6, Babel, and Redux/MobX.
  • Proficient understanding of Web Fundamentals (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
  • Basic understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms in JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with native build tools like XCode and Gradle.
  • Sound knowledge of design patterns and practices for writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Good knowledge of Android or iOS fundamentals and their build processes.
  • Understanding of Version Control Systems like Git.
  • Experience with supplementary libraries like Redux Saga and Emotion (a plus).
  • Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) for Unit Testing with libraries like Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, Sinon, and Karma.
  • Capable of handling web services integration (RESTful, JSON).
  • Ability to write native iOS or Android code where required.
  • Deep understanding of native components, core components, and React Native libraries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, data structures, and algorithms.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in product-based companies, particularly in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with mobile app architecture and design patterns.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
