Job Title: COBOL Developer

Salary: 22 LPA

Experience: 7-15 years

Location: Bengaluru, Pune, Chandigarh, Chennai, Panchkula, Mumbai, Gurugram

Notice Period: Immediate to 15 days

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer who is proficient in COBOL programming and has strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining COBOL applications and should be able to handle complex data processing systems. The candidate must have a good understanding of legacy systems and should be able to integrate COBOL applications with modern systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL applications.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design efficient system solutions.- Debug and resolve application issues.- Perform system testing and validate COBOL programs for functionality and performance.- Document the application design, process flows, and any enhancements made.- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on coding best practices.- Ensure system stability and performance for high-volume transaction processing.

Required Skills:

- Strong proficiency in COBOL programming.- Experience with mainframe technologies.- Familiarity with JCL (Job Control Language) and VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method).- Understanding of DB2 or other relational databases.- Knowledge of CICS (Customer Information Control System) for online transaction processing.- Experience with batch processing and real-time processing.- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Additional Skills:

- Knowledge of modern integration tools is a plus.- Experience with version control systems like Git.- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
