ProjectDescription: We are seekingsomeone with anan SMElevel knowledge of theinstallation/administration/support process starting with SMP/Ethrough the removal of softwarecomponents.
ClientOptum For this project we are seeking for someone that has 10 yearsexperience in the following capabilities: oConfiguring and using the SMP/E tool oWorking with Db2 Logging and System Recovery/Disaster Recoveryincluding GDPS o Incorporating the DB2Subsystem into the LPAR IPLs o Working withDb2 Storage Groups o Defining andimplementing Performance features to Buffer Pools and other Db2System level components o Defining andmaintaining Data Sharing environments including the DB2Sysplex o Downloading System Software fromthe vendor installing Db2 and Db2 Administration Tools throughoutthe Tech Test/Dev and Prod environments including following allChange procedures ensuring Application Developer testing and theoverall post implementation validation stepsResponsibilities: Install/Maintain/Configure the Db2 software and related Db2 ISVsoftware Experience automating process usingzOSMF Experience recovering the Db2environment in a Disaster Recoveryenvironment Demonstrates knowledge in allareas of z System Db2 Softwareadministration Designs and documentstechnical solutions required to support complex business systemand/or integrations Generate documentationfor use by Computer Operations as well as the Technical HelpDesk z Systems Infrastructure/Platformlifecycle management (the lifecycle of Db2 Software from planningthrough operation and disposal or endoflife)o Install and support latest releases of Db2software o Experience applying all types ofvendor Db2 software fixes: Highimpactpervasive (HIPER) PTF Prerequisitefix Corequisite fixTechnical Refresh requisite fix Distributionrequisite fix Cumulative PTFpackages Servicepacks Authorized Program Analysis Report(APAR) Program Temporary Fix(PTF) Skills Musthave: Demonstrated knowledge and fully proficient in the use of TSO andISPF Demonstrated knowledge of z/OS primaryoperations console operations and commandsDemonstrated understanding of JCL and ability to create and modifyJCL job streams Demonstrated understandingof z/OS dataset configurations and the ability to properly allocatevarious dataset configurations Experienceworking with all types of z/OS file types and file systemsIncluding PDS/PDSE and VSAM Hasresponsibility and capability to work multiplatforms including z/OSLINUX and Windows Practical understanding ofSMPE and how to use it Experience with zFSincluding allocation and related Unix commands to manage thespace Experience working with ITSM processesincluding Incidents Change and relatedprocesses Familiarity with ConfigurationManager a plus Ability to workindependently Interprets policies andapplies experience Ability to work as a teamplayer in both a partner role and mentor asappropriate Experience working with Vendorsto create/manage support tickets including describing the issuesgathering packaging and uploading documentation and follow up asneeded Fully proficient on use of enterprisez System monitoring tools oOmegamon o Mainview oTMON o MXG oSplunk 10 years of mainframe systemsexperience with specific concentration in the Db2 SoftwareAdministration/PLM area working in a large z Systemsenvironment: o Multiple Parallel SysPlexconfiguration oDB2Plex o CICSPlex oMultiple physical z Systems machines oMultiple Production LPAR environment oGeneral Processors / zIIP Processors Provenability to cover the 24x7 oncall rotation oAvailable for the oncall frequencies based on teamsize o Ability to work in an atmosphere withheightened pressure and visible to all levels ofLeadership o Ability to work effectively inan Incident War Room scenario partnering with other teams on theinitial root cause determination o Abilityto follow all processes and procedures in thisenvironment Provenability to o Break complex topics intomeaningful pieces of information o Sortthrough large amounts of data to assess forrelevancy o Seek out multiple sources togather information o Identify cause andeffect relationships between known and unknownvariables o Evaluate quality processes andseeks opportunities to streamline o Considerthe customer experience business impact and solution objective whenmanaging risks and development and design ofsolutions o Proactively identify patterns inissues and research rootcause to improve overallquality o Holding selfaccountable formeeting high performance standards and agreed uponcommitments o Taking responsibility foroutcomes of actions and decisions o Identifyand analyzes options and selects course of action based on best fitwith desired outcomes o Monitor and analyzemultiple systems and researching/proposing solutions toissues Nice to have: SMElevel knowledge of theinstallation/administration/support process starting with SMP/Ethrough the removal of softwarecomponents
