Position Description:

The Fleet Performance Analyst would work in the Maritime Technology team to optimize voyage reporting and vessel performance. In addition to various other fleet performance topics, the Fleet Performance Analyst would also support strategically important topics such as digitalization of the vessels and assisting vessels to improve their energy efficiency, thereby reducing vessel emissions per Seaspan’s decarbonization strategy.

This position offers a 2-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Job Responsibilities:

Support with the maintenance of the voyage reporting platform “Bluetracker”, including data validation checks and documentation of the utilized data fields.  Conduct regular reviews of data received from onboard systems to ensure accuracy and completeness. Ensure that all data reporting processes comply with industry regulations and company standards.  Implement quality control measures to identify and rectify discrepancies in reported data.  Effectively communicate with shipboard personnel, technical teams, and management to address data-related issues.  Collaborate with onboard and onshore teams to address data integrity issues promptly.  Work closely with technical and operational teams to implement improvements in data reporting processes.  Support with compliance reporting around IMO DCS, EU/ UK MRV, and EU ETS.  Work closely with the Fleet Performance Specialist to generate insightful reports to aid decision-making around fuel efficiency evaluations and ship performance reviews.  Support with the preparation of the Time Charter Description and update of the fuel consumption baseline database.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture  Eager to delve deep into maritime and shipping topics  Technology enthusiast who can source innovative technology  Intermediate/advanced Excel skills  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools  Good verbal and written communication skills  Ability to prioritize various work tasks  Able to work with energy, showing initiative, resourcefulness, and care for detail, neatness, and diligence, in a fast-paced environment  Optional: Good skills in scripting and programming with Python
