Job Title: Senior Production Merchandiser & Assistant Merchandiser

Location: Udyog Vihar, Phase 4, Gurgaon

Department: Production / Merchandising

Reports to: Merchandising Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior Production Merchandiser and Assistant Merchandiser will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of garment production, from order receipt to delivery. These roles involve managing production timelines, collaborating with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products that meet client specifications. The Senior Production Merchandiser will drive cost efficiency, quality assurance, and optimize the production process, while the Assistant Merchandiser will support these functions and assist with day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning:
  • Develop and execute production schedules with the planning team to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Order Management:
  • Liaise with clients and internal departments to gather product specifications and requirements, ensuring accurate handling of all orders.
  • Creation and Maintenance of Time and Action Calendar:
  • Create and maintain the Time and Action Calendar (T&A), ensuring all timelines for sample development, production, and delivery are clearly defined and followed.
  • Monitor progress and adjust production timelines to ensure adherence to client deadlines.
  • Vendor Coordination:
  • Collaborate with fabric and trim suppliers, production teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless material supply and timely production.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure all garments meet the required quality standards by conducting inspections, resolving quality issues, and working with the quality assurance team.
  • Sampling & Approval Process:
  • Oversee the creation and approval of samples, ensuring alignment with client specifications and production timelines.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with design, pattern-making, cutting, sewing, and finishing departments to ensure smooth execution of the production plan.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Regularly update clients on the production status, including any delays, quality concerns, or changes to the original plan.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience for Senior Merchandiser and 2 years for Assistant Merchandiser in garment production merchandising.
  • Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes, fabric sourcing, and production timelines.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and cost control.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
Preferred:
  • Experience in a men's suit and trousers manufacturing plant.
  • Knowledge of embroideries.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position.
  • Timings: 10 am to 7 pm.
  • Based in a garment factory or manufacturing facility.
