Job Description :


Key Responsibilities :

Database Administration :


- Manage PostgreSQL databases on a daily basis, including production support, backup/restore operations, and troubleshooting.

Tool Utilization :


- Leverage PostgreSQL tools such as pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_repack, and pg_logical for efficient database management and data transfer.

Performance Optimization :


- Analyze and optimize PostgreSQL database performance by understanding and configuring performance-related parameters.

Database Migration :


- Execute seamless migrations of PostgreSQL databases to AWS Aurora, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

AWS Aurora Management :


- Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases on AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, leveraging its features and capabilities.

Large-Scale Database Management :


- Handle multi-terabyte PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability in a demanding environment.

Must-Have Skills :

PostgreSQL Expertise :


- Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and best practices.

Tool Proficiency :


- Strong proficiency in using PostgreSQL tools for database management and administration.

AWS Aurora Experience :


- Proven experience in migrating and managing PostgreSQL databases on AWS Aurora.

Large-Scale Database Management :


- Hands-on experience with large-scale, multi-terabyte PostgreSQL databases.

Performance Tuning :


- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning techniques and optimization strategies.

Problem-Solving :


- Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and provide effective solutions.

Additional Skills (Preferred) :

Scripting :


- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Perl for automating database tasks.

Cloud Technologies :


- Familiarity with other cloud platforms and services beyond AWS Aurora.

Security :


- Understanding of database security best practices and measures.

High Availability :


- Experience with implementing high availability solutions for PostgreSQL databases
