Title: OTA Onboard Validation Engineer

Job Description

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

- Previous experience in automotive software validation, firmware testing, or related roles.- Familiarity with Over-the-Air (OTA) update processes in automotive systems.- Knowledge of Embedded OS (QNX, Embedded Linux and Android Auto)- Experience in flashing ECU in vehicles- Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, or scripting languages commonly used in test automation.- Understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and diagnostics protocols (e.g., UDS).- Knowledge of wireless communication technologies, including cellular networks (4G, 5G) and Wi-Fi, as these are commonly used for OTA updates.- Familiarity with industry standards related to OTA updates, such as OMA DM, AUTOSAR, IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) and other relevant standards in the automotive domain.- Experience with testing tools and frameworks for software validation, such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, or other similar tools.- Proficiency in creating and executing automated test scripts to validate software updates efficiently.- Understanding of automotive ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and in-vehicle networks, as well as how software updates impact these systems.- Strong debugging skills to identify and troubleshoot issues related to software updates.- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system architects, and quality assurance teams.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues that may arise during the validation process.- Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, and reports for OTA validation activities.- Knowledge of automotive safety and cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434) is a plus.- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate test results, issues, and recommendations to various stakeholders.
