Job Purpose

The Purpose of this role is to lead a team of FLL (First Line Leaders), Operators and Supportive Staffs to achieve the delivery target of committed volumes with ensuring and maintaining Safety, Quality, Service and Values of the Organization to meet expectations of patient at the end of our supply chain.

Area of Responsibility:

This role will work closely with the other heads of department. This role will liaise with technical experts in R&D. Seeks to lead improvement in the ways of working to achieve cost reduction and improved operational efficiency. Drive agenda of improved safety, quality and service levels in area of work. Ensure cGMP, regulatory, QMS, EHS, internal and external audit compliance. In place - In use review for all Quality and EHS systems in the plan. To review or audit the implemented system for further improvement requirements. Active engagement in Governance review meetings for the area e.g. Safety meetings, TIP review & Risk review. Input to GSK systems e.g. SAP, Trackwise, VQD, Workday, CERPS etc. Has responsibility for ensuring audits are carried out and responded to at the required frequency.

 Expected Delivery.

To deliver agreed target for year wrt to safety, quality, service & cost. To co-ordinate and work collaboratively with other functions to ensure compliances and implement improvement projects on time to sustain efficiency and bring down COGs. To ensure that manufacturing / pkg is carried out according to SOP & cGMP practices are followed to achieve desired safety and quality. Finalization of dept goals in line with site goals & cascading of dept goals to line level to align everyone. Ensure all Audit (safety & quality) L1, L2 etc happen as per schedule & finalization of CAPA on time. Ensuring timely closure of all upcoming actions to have Zero Overdue action related to CC, CAPA & Deviation. Develop FLL capability on audit effectiveness, problem solving & risk identification. Having monthly Dept RMCB / Dept. safety meeting and timely closure of actions coming out from meeting. Ensure GPS ways of working embedded in people to bring culture of continuous improvement. Identify key talent in area & develop them to take up next role. Periodic performance review of team to ensure alignment to GSK values & expectations and coach team members whenever required. Overall manage COGs & OPEX end to end for dept (Includes mfg & pkg) & drive improvement to bring down cost. Develops area budget, monitors and reviews spending and supplies key financial forecasts to meet operating programs within the department to achieve plant and corporate goals. Manages departmental headcount to meet demand and site goals. Works across boundaries with other departments to achieve site goals. May direct or lead a site wide activity or project on a specific business need. Audit compliance for various area with respect to EHS / QMS audits, L2, L3/ L4 audits. Implementation of ZAP programme in dept. QMS gap and risk identification & mitigation as per plan. To identify, escalate, Manage and mitigate the risks in respective Risk Assessment Area. Implementation and sustenance of GPS Standards.

People Leadership – full people leadership for a team of staff working within a production environment:

Leading and coaching of section heads, First Line Leaders and direct to ensure adherence to standards for safety, quality, compliance and output. Engaging and inspiring staff to achieve future targets through the application of the Continuous Improvement Framework. Ensuring development plans and PDPs are undertaken on a regular basis using the 70:20:10 and GSK methods. This includes ensuring that the training required is identified, recorded using the appropriate method and ensure that the training is undertaken using local processes. Coaching and providing development to improve the behaviour/performance of individuals and the team to ensure that the expectations are being met. This will include holding people to account for the duties that they are responsible Supports the deployment of GPS within the area. Consistently acts with the Mindsets and Behaviours consistent with GPS mindset and GSK Leadership Expectations and values. Identifying key talent and capabilities and ensure succession plans are in place, recruiting as necessary. Use of HR and EHS policies and procedures for example Reward and Recognition, Salary Review and Bonus, Absence management, Grievance procedures as appropriate in country/site. Role modelling the expected behaviours and standards for all staff in the area. To coordinate the projects. To coordinate with QC, stores, QA, manufacturing and packing for planning and scheduling.
